A 28-hour course in cetacean conservation will be held from March 16 to 20, consisting of lectures by world-renowned experts.
The course is organised by the Agreement on the Conservation of Cetaceans in the Black Sea, Mediterranean Sea and contiguous Atlantic area (ACCOBAMS) at the University of Malta and will be accredited by the Centre for the Liberal Arts and Sciences (CLAS).
The course will cover species of and threats to cetaceans, the legislative framework on their conservation and study skills. It is particularly relevant for people working in the sector, science students and marine enthusiasts. Participants should have knowledge of biology and/or environmental conservation.
Applications are to be submitted online at www.um.edu.mt/clas/accobams by tomorrow. The course fee is €50. There is an additional €20 fee for late applications received until Thursday.
