The main attraction on the fourth day of this year’s winter league programme is the match between Neptunes Grimaldi and Sliema Frank Salt Real Estate to be played this evening at the National Pool.

With two wins from their opening two matches both teams are eyeing another positive outing in their bid to obtain an early foothold in the race for the off-season championship title.

Sliema opened their account with an 8-4 victory over Valletta and followed up with another four-goal victory margin against Exiles, 14-10.

Neptunes’ two wins were against Exiles, 14-1, and Sirens 10-6.

The Blues and the Reds, who have won the winter league eight times each, have an experienced core of players blended with younger colleagues some of whom have rejoined the teams after being loaned out to other clubs.

Meanwhile, the First Division competition also resumes this evening when Otters take on Marsaxlokk while Ta’ Xbiex face Marsascala tomorrow.
