Tarxien Rainbows coach Clive Mizzi will have a big headache to announce his team for next Sunday’s BOV Premier League match against Valletta as yesterday he learnt that four of his regular starters were on the suspensions list issued by the Malta FA.

The Rainbows are in serious relegation trouble but Mizzi will have his work cut out against Valletta as he will have to shuffle his pack knowing that he will be without Spanish midfielder Carlos Hevia, defender Owen Bugeja, attacking midfielder Firaz Abou-lezz and Soly Mouhamed, the Senegalese striker.

Hevia, Bugeja and Aboulezz collected a fourth yellow card.

All three were handed a one-match ban but Mouhamed will be out for two matches following his red card in the 2-1 upset to Floriana on Saturday.

Valletta will be without de-fender Steve Borg this weekend as he serves a one-match ban following his first-half dismissal against Qormi on Sunday.

Two other Premier League players handed a one-match ban yesterday were Ryan Micallef, of Qormi, and Djumo Bocar, of Sliema Wanderers.

Micallef is out of the match against Mosta and Djumo misses out on Sliema’s clash against Birkirkara. Both matches will be played on Saturday.
