The world's oldest living person, Misao Ohkawa of Osaka, Japan was feted on the eve of her 117th birthday.

The Guinness World Book of Records says she's the oldest woman in the world.

Born to a clothing merchant in 1898, Ohkawa married in 1919. She's had three children, four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

She's one of nearly 60,000 centenarians living in Japan, whose life-expectancy rate is one of the highest in the world.

And the secret to Misao Ohkawa's long life?

"No idea" she says.
