The drop in fuel prices as from tomorrow meant that the price of petrol would have been reduced eight times under this administration, that of diesel six times, the Energy Ministry said.
It said that this was being done when, according to EU statistics, the price of petrol and diesel was this week increased in all but three countries.
The ministry said that the price of petrol since the beginning of January would have gone down 9c to €1.35 per litre, that of diesel 8c to €1.28 per litre.
This showed that the government’s policy of stability was bearing fruit and had translated in one of the lowest rates of inflation the country had ever had in spite of economic growth and an increase in jobs.
Stability was also retained in gas prices, the price of which was also going down as from tomorrow.
