This letter is dedicated to the warden who on February 24 at 3.57pm slipped cunningly out of his hiding place at MIA opposite the arrivals terminal in the pouring rain and high winds and in the space of eight minutes placed a ticket on my windscreen while I had just run into the terminal to greet my daughter and carry her luggage back to the car.

By the time I was out, the warden was nowhere to be seen. Obviously, he was back in his hole rubbing his hands gleefully, patiently awaiting another victim to fall his way.

So much for sweet talk on wardens (at least in this one’s case) being considerate and the need for them not to be so harsh on minor infringements. The vehicle was only one of a few at the time, was parked parallel to the kerb and not causing any interference to the flow of traffic.

For the weather conditions at the time, and for the very short time the vehicle was parked, I expected more common sense from the warden.
