The number of people on the unemployment register fell by 1,405 compared to 2014, according to figures released by the National Statistics Office.

The most significant drop was among those who had been registering for less than 21 weeks, while the number of unemployed with a disability also fell by 117 to 430.

The unemployment rate in September 2014 stood at 3.8 per cent of the labour supply (excluding part-timers).
