Jordan: Colombian forward Wilmar Jordan has signed a deal to join Chinese Super League club Tianjin Teda, ending his successful stint at Bulgarian side Litex Lovech. The 24-year-old striker, who signed a two-and-a-half-year contract with Tianjin, scored 35 goals in 63 appearances for Litex in all competitions.

A-League: A superb second-half fightback saw Melbourne City claim a 3-1 win over Adelaide United in the A-League, yesterday. Alberto Pablo Sanchez gave United a 32nd-minute lead but Safuwan Baha-rudin levelled things seven minutes after the break and Joshua Kennedy had City ahead three minutes later. Iain Ramsay then sealed the win with three minutes remaining to hand City a first win in four and move them into the play-off spots.

Van Persie: Manchester United striker Robin van Persie will miss today’s Premier League match against Sunderland due to an ankle injury, manager Louis van Gaal said. Van Persie damaged ligaments during United’s 2-1 defeat by Swansea City last weekend and left the Liberty Stadium on crutches with his right foot in a protective boot. “It is an ankle problem. I do not think it is very heavy but ankle problems can take a long time,” Van Gaal told a news conference. “It is not one or two weeks.”

Cardiff: Cardiff have announced annual losses of £12 million to take the club’s total debt to £174 million. The club’s latest figures, lodged with Companies House, cover the year ending May 2014 which saw Cardiff relegated from the Premier League after only one season. Revenue in the top flight increased to £79.9 million but the accounts show £45 million was spent on transfers and £46.7 million on wages.

Travel Ban: Lens fans will be banned from travelling to watch their side play PSG in the capital on March 7 after crowd trouble last weekend. The LFP’s disciplinary committee announced the punishment yesterday after Lens’ 4-1 defeat to Caen on Saturday was interrupted by crowd trouble. The match was delayed for 15 minutes in the 85th minute after a number of Lens fans invaded the pitch.
