Pietà Hotspurs vs Sliema Wanderers (today at 2pm, Hibs Stadium).

Sliema will be looking to make it three wins out of three when they take on lowly Pietà.

Back-to-back wins over Mosta and Tarxien saw the Wanderers distance themselves from the drop zone and the Blues will now fancy their chances of moving further up the standings this afternoon.

Sliema have almost a full complement with the only absentee being defender Stefano Bianciardi who has a fractured arm.

Filippo Talato, Joseph Borg and Luca Martinelli are all fully fit and available for play.

Pietà are unlikely to have all their foreigners in squad today.

Leonardo Fortunato faces a race against time to recover from a muscle strain and Ricardo Costa (hamstring) and Charles Newuche (knee) are still doubtful. Striker Claudio Frances is ruled out with a one-match ban.

Previous results: Sliema vs Pietà 2-0, 2-1.

Tarxien Rainbows vs Floriana (today at 2pm, Tedesco Stadium).

This is a clash between two teams with a perfectly balanced head-to-head record in the league this season following two identical 1-1 draws.

The Greens will be looking to step up their chase of a top-four finish after joining Balzan on the 18-point mark last week.

Tarxien, however, are badly in need of points to boost their relegation hopes.

Floriana can bank on striker Amadou Samb today after serving a four-match ban but Sacha Borg and Matteo Piciollo are out with suspension. Goalkeeper Valerio Senatore and defender Andre Scicluna are still nursing long-term injuries.

Tarxien’s Manuel Caruana struggled all week with an adductor injury. Obinna Darlington (groin) and Jorge Yepes (Achilles) are rated as doubtful.

Previous results: Floriana vs Tarxien 1-1, 1-1.

Naxxar Lions vs Balzan (today at 4.15pm, Tedesco Stadium).

Balzan are under pressure to hold on to the fourth place which could mean Europa League football next season.

Failure to pick a win in their last two matches has cost Balzan dearly as they have been pegged back by Floriana in the upper half of the standings.

This afternoon, Balzan have a tricky task on their hands as they face a side they have failed to beat in two league meetings this season.

The Lions are also in desperate need of points to avoid the drop.

Oliver Spiteri, the Balzan coach, cannot field his strongest formation as Luke Sciberras is struggling with groin trouble and Lydon Micallef has a pulled hamstring.

Naxxar are expected to be at full strength with Frank Temile and David Fenech both in the squad after missing last week’s 1-0 defeat to Birkirkara due to suspension.

Previous results: Balzan vs Naxxar 1-1, 1-3.

Mosta vs Birkirkara (tomorrow at 2pm, National Stadium).

Birkirkara will be out to beat Mosta and keep their flickering championship hopes alive.

Trailing leaders Hibs by eight points, the Stripes have no room for calculations as they must win all their remaining matches and hope other results go their way.

Paul Zammit, the Birkirkara coach, is urging his players to show a higher level of consistency in this final round of matches to keep hold of second place and maintain their challenge to Hibs.

The Stripes have no selection problems this weekend as Gareth Sciberras and Rafael Ledesma are now back to full fitness and could feature against Mosta.

Mosta are sweating on the fitness of winger Haruna Babangida but Gambian duo Ousman Koli and Alieu Darbo will be available for selection.

Yesterday, it was announced that Mosta will have Ryan Grech suspended for one match.

Previous results: Birkirkara vs Mosta 2-0, 5-1.

Qormi vs Valletta (tomorrow at 4pm, National Stadium).

Valletta are expected to bounce back from the upset to Żebbuġ with a convincing performance and victory over lowly Qormi to get back into business.

The shock to the relegation strugglers all but ended Valletta’s hopes of retaining the title but they will be battling Birkirkara for the runners-up spot so nothing less than maximum spoils will appease their fans.

Valletta will be boosted by the return from suspension of midfielder Roderick Briffa but strike partners Lateef Elford Alliyu and Djamel Leeflang are set to miss out with foot injuries.

Qormi coach Mark Miller will be facing Valletta for the first time since he parted ways with the Citizens last May. Tomorrow, he has a full squad at his disposal.

Previous results: Valletta vs Qormi 4-0, 3-2.
