SAD has won a Mobile Trends Award for its TV streaming app developed for Polish public broadcasting network TVP.
PTL International, the technology subsidiary of Hili Ventures, acquired SAD in July last year.
SAD is Poland’s largest Apple retailer. It operates 22 Apple premium resellers under the iSpot brand across Poland, and encompasses a corporate division providing business, broadcast, telecoms and media communities with networks and systems using Apple and third-party hardware and software.
The app live streams 18 channels of TVP programming and broadcasts from Poland’s parliament on mobile devices using IOS, Android and Windows operating systems. More than 700,000 subscribers used the app in 2014.
The annual Mobile Trends Awards reward innovation in mobile projects, applications, websites, and mobile campaigns. A committee made up of technology, design and user experience professionals shortlists submissions that are then put up for a nationwide vote.
“SAD continues to build on its technical development capabilities to bring more innovation to mobile device users in Poland and in other territories. This is part of PTL International’s underlying investment strategy – to diversify and cultivate innovation through its various companies,” PTL International chief executive Kenneth Spiteri said.
