Cycling: Bradley Wiggins will head up Team Sky’s line-up at Omloop Het Nieuwsblad on Saturday. The 34-year-old, who last competed in the Tour of Qatar earlier in February, has been focusing on his conditioning and will tackle the Belgian curtain raiser with Bernhard Eisel, Andy Fenn, Christian Knees, Salvatore Puccio, Luke Rowe, Ian Stannard and Chris Sutton.

Basketball: Former NBA All-Star forward Andrei Kirilenko has agreed to rejoin CSKA Moscow until the end of the season. It will be the 34-year-old’s third spell with CSKA following previous stints from 1998-2001 and 2011-12. Kirilenko played the majority of his career with Utah Jazz and in 2004 was selected for the NBA All-Star Game. He started this season with Brooklyn Nets before falling out of favour with coach Lionel Hollins. Kirilenko was then traded to Philadelphia 76ers but did not make an appearance for the club before his contract was terminated.

Rugby Union: Wales have recalled winger George North in place of Alex Cuthbert for the Six Nations match against France. North missed the 26-23 win over Scotland on Feb. 15 after suffering concussion in the opening defeat by England. Lock Luke Charteris, prop Samson Lee and hooker Scott Baldwin were also named in the team for the game in Paris on Saturday as coach Warren Gatland made four changes.

Cricket: Chris Gayle rediscovered his mojo in spectacular fashion yesterday with the first ever World Cup double century to drive West Indies to a 73-run victory over Zimbabwe in their Pool B clash at Manuka Oval. The opener’s 215 was the highest individual innings in a World Cup match, the third highest in any one-day international, and formed the large part of a 372-run partnership with Marlon Samuels (133 not out), also an one-day record. The 35-year-old slugged 16 sixes – tying the one-day record – as well as 10 fours in his 147-ball knock.
