A drug addict was today granted bail after admitting to trafficking cocaine and heroin at thw Hamrun piazza on Tuesday.

The court heard Clayton Fenech, 25, from Valletta, plead guilty to possession of the drugs found in circumstances denoting it was not for his personal use. He was also accused of relapsing. He was found in possession of some eight sachets containing drugs.

Magistrate Natasha Galea Sciberras heard prosecuting officer Pierre Grech and defence lawyer Noel Bartolo agreeing on a punishment of 20 months effective prison term. However, the magistrate said she was not bound to this agreement and postponed the case to next Tuesday for judgment.

In the meantime, Mr Fenech was granted bail against a €5,000 personal guarantee and ordered him to sign the bail book daily.
