During the Nazi era the thought that if a lie is repeated a thousand times it becomes the truth was successfully implemented.

A lie incessantly uttered today is that religion has been and is now the main cause of conflicts inflicted upon nations.

Those who assert this conveniently forget that the 20th century was the bloodiest and darkest in recorded history, as far as wars and repression are concerned, and that whatever happened before is nowhere comparable to what happened during the last century.

Fifty million people perished during World War II and the Stalinist dictatorship left millions dead in the gulags of forced labour and starvation.

In the early 1930s, millions of people had also died, mostly of hunger, especially in the Ukraine, following the forced collectivisation of farms.

During the Maoist regime in China, 30 million died due to senseless and cruel policies that led to a devastating famine.

The cultural revolution of the 1960s had its toll of countless dead. A few years later, in Cambodia, the Khmer Rouge committed genocide on a large scale.

All these crimes were carried out by regimes that had rejected God and religion and ruthlessly persecuted believers.

Those who insist on blaming religion for everything should remember that historical facts are not an opinion and are therefore impossible to refute.
