Austria Tourism and Lufthansa recently hosted a group of travel agents to a trip to Salzburg and Bad Ischl. Flights were on Lufthansa to Munich which is a 90-minute drive from the scenic beauty of the Alps and the Salzburgerland in Upper Austria.

Photographed are a group of Maltese travel agents with Adrienne Buedinger of Lufthansa, Malta and (fourth from right) Philippe Kupfer, deputy consul at the Austrian Consulate for Italy and Malta.

They are posing in front of the historical Kaiser Villa in Bad Ischl.

This summer palace and extensive estate are still owned by the Hapsburg family, who happened to be in residence during the private tour.

This idyllic location was where Emperor Franz Josef I of Austria-Hungary signed the declaration of war on Serbia in July 28, 1914, following the assassination of his nephew in Sarajevo, that was to escalate into World War I.
