Emirates Group plans to hire more than 11,000 staff in the coming year.

This would increase its staff size by six per cent by March 2016, it said, and approximately half of the recruits will be Dubai-based cabin crew for Emirates airline.

As the airline prepares to receive more than 20 new planes this year, it is hiring in areas such as flight operations, engineering, airport services and corporate functions.

Dnata, which is also part of the group and provides aviation and travel services in 38 countries, is also recruiting, particularly in airport operations, engineering and commercial business development.

“Skilled candidates know they can look forward to a truly international and multi-cultural working environment, as well as good career prospects with a stable and growing company,” said Abdulaziz Al Ali, the airline’s executive vice president for human resources. “Right now we have more than 75,000 employees in Dubai and around the world. More than 12,000 of our employees have been with the group for more than 10 years, and almost 3,000 have worked with us for over 20 years.

“More than anything, these facts illustrate the type of employer we are and the opportunities that we can offer.”

The group’s careers portal, emirates.com/ careers, receives more than a million visitors every month from candidates around the world. Most online visits originate from the UAE, followed by India, UK and the US.

Emirates operates daily scheduled flights between Malta and Dubai via Larnaca, Cyprus.
