Transport Malta or its contractors do not appear to be performing any work on Sundays and holidays, if not on weekends, at the Balzan roundabout between Vjal it-Transfigurazzjoni, Triq in-Naxxar and Triq Dun Karm.

So what is the purpose of blocking the roundabout at the exit of Vjal it-Transfigurazzjoni and diverting traffic in the direction of Mosta when no work is being done?

Who are these traffic experts or consultants that are coming up with these kinds of proposals? Is it not possible to remove the portable barriers when the works are over at the end of the week and be placed again, if necessary, at the beginning of the following week?

In fact, it is doubtful if any work is being done during the week at this part of the roundabout, so cars are being diverted unnecessarily, possibly even during the week.

It is becoming a habit for Transport Malta to introduce these types of measures. Is it possible that it has adopted a policy of trial and error?

We are lucky that we are a little island and do not have a larger land area or several motorways. If that were the case, we would surely be making a bigger mess.
