It’s a tale of two halves for the spring/summer season at Miss Selfridge, with clean lines and minimal shapes sitting alongside dreamy, gypset pieces and heavy embroidery.

A romantic mood flows through the collection with white structured lace and upholstery florals. Artisanal prints and embroidery lend themselves to coordinates and pretty sun dresses, creating serious wanderlust.

Jewel-coloured embroidery on bell-sleeve tops and shorts evoke a world-traveller vibe, while structured tailoring is perfect for summer in the city.

Slick-tie waist duster coats, form-fitting jumpsuits and structured peplum shapes are the new party wear. Wide-legged trousers, jumpsuits and cullotes create a new relaxed silhouette when worn with simple sandals and floor-length kimonos.

Denim is updated with an indigo-structured shirt dress and paper bag-waist skirts; just jeans will no longer do.

White is the season’s go-to hue for a bohemian look in sheer dresses and pretty lace. A sheer white embroidered maxi dress is this season’s showstopper.

Festival styling is sewn up with crochet shift dresses and lace Bardot playsuits. Blue is also key, whether in a wide-leg jumpsuit, pretty organza co-ords or a printed maxi dress.

An azure printed duster coat over a matching playsuit creates an impactful tailored look. Suede pieces add texture and depth when worn with whimsical blouses and shirts. Fringed jackets in burnt orange and claret add Stevie Nicks esque cool to pretty white lace dresses. This 70s styling is underpinned by military pieces in simple shapes. Fluid khaki jumpsuits and tapered flat front trousers bring a chic utilitarian feel to the season.

The spring/summer collection launches in stores this month.
