The University of Malta has launched an Outstanding Alumni Achievement Award (OAAA) to recognise graduates who attain exceptional distinction in their chosen fields, professions or in public service, and have used their education and talents to reach out to and improve the lives of others.
Nominees for the award must hold at least a bachelor’s degree from the University.
While present academics, staff members and students are not eligible to receive the award, they are entitled to put forward nominations, which are to be submitted by noon of April 15.
The nomination process is confidential and all related documentation may be downloaded from the OAAA website.
Successful nominees will be honoured at a reception, presented with a limited edition commemorative pin, and have their name inscribed on a prominent plaque at the University.
The initiative is part of the University’s efforts to recognise, value and increase contact with its alumni. Past graduates automatically become part of an alumni online community and can access their University records, receive an online newsletter and contact course peers and others on a database. Campus reunions, interest groups and ‘chapters’ for overseas students are actively encouraged.
