Artist Zoe Chomarat has launched an adoption programme to help stray, neglected and abandoned cats find a new home.

Called Zoe Cat Adoption Programme, the scheme offers anyone who adopts a cat or kitten from Happy Paws Charity Organisation in Marsa free medical advice and treatment as well as neutering/spaying of the animal together with free microchipping.

Maike Beekman, president of Happy Paws, said the programme would make a huge difference to the stray cats and kittens as it “will be more affordable and will encourage pet lovers to adopt a stray so more cats will be off the streets”.

Chomarat supports the organisation by donating proceeds from the sale of paintings from her exhibitions. She designed the logo and the title of the new programme.

To adopt a cat or kitten contact Happy Paws on their Facebook page, e-mail csafmalta@gmail.com or call 9983 6157. For information on the programme, call 2122 7127 or drop in at Happy Paws Clinic, 41, Cross Road, Marsa.
