I fully support Catherine Cole, whose letter ‘Distractions while driving’ (February 9) refers to the unimaginable dangers of texting/phoning while driving.

I had a very close encounter the other morning when exiting the tunnel on foot from Swieqi. A Frank Salt company car came racing around the corner into the narrow tunnel, the driver with one hand on the wheel and the other clamped to his phone, trying to manoeuvre the sharp bend.

Talk about multitasking. Needless to say, he nearly hit me. It was a very shaky start to my day.

I call on law enforcers to please do something!
