BORG. On February 8, at Roseville Residential Home, Attard, JOSEPHINE, née Micallef, aged 81, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her sad loss her beloved husband Philip, her children Maryanne widow of Joseph Schembri, Joseph and his wife Josette, Nathalie and Oliver, her grandchildren Roana, Sarah, Martina, Matthew and his girlfriend Chiara, and great-grandson Zack, her brothers and sisters, relatives and friend. BORG BONELLO. On February 10, at St Augustine Convent, Valletta, Fr EMANUEL, O.S.A., aged 64 years, passed away peacefully, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss the Augustinian Friars, his father Joseph Borg Bonello, his sister Maria and her husband Paul Falzon, Benny Borg Bonello and his wife Lilian, nephews and nieces, relatives and friends. Today, Fr Emanuel Borg Bonello will be exposed for the public at Our Lady of Cintura Oratory, Valletta from 9am to noon. At 1.45pm a funeral cortege leaves the Oratory for St Augustine parish church, Valletta, where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 2pm, followed by interment in the Augustinian Province grave at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. CARACHI. On February 9, at St Vincent de Paul Residence, EVELYN, née Attard of Balzan, aged 86, went to meet the Risen Lord and her beloved husband Paul, comforted by the rites of the Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her sad loss her daughter MaryRose and her husband Saviour Gauci, her son Alexander and his wife Rita, her grandchildren Claire and her partner Nedim, Pierre-Paul and his wife Pamela, Alex-William, Hubert-John and Karl-Matthew, her great-grandchildren Krista, Julian and Megan, her sister Katie, relatives and friends.
The funeral leaves St Vincent de Paul Residence on Friday at 1.45pm for St Andrew parish church, Luqa, where a Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 2pm followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata cemetery, in the family grave. GUELFI. On February 7, in Syracuse, Sicily, YVONNE née Mutton, aged 70, passed away comforted by the rites of the Holy Church. Fondly missed by her husband Giorgio, her daughter Tiziana and her husband Marco, her son Fabrizio and his wife Valentina, her brother, sisters and their respective spouses, Roland and Kathleen, Melita and John Zammit, Dorothy and John Mallia, her brother-in-law Ermanno and his wife Cleria, uncles, aunties, nephews and nieces, amongst them the Rev. Fr. Michael Zammit, cousins, other relatives and friends, both in Malta and in Syracuse.
The funeral was held in Syracuse on February 11.
A Mass for the repose of her soul will be celebrated on Saturday at 9.15am at the chapel of the Ursuline Sisters Creche, Sliema.

MICALLEF. On February 6, LAWRENCE, husband of the late Louisette nèe Gatt, of Kalkara and residing in Cospicua, aged 79, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss, his daughters Carol and her husband Noel, Shirley and her husband Gabe, Diane and her husband Gordon, his grandchildren Mireya, Luca and Nico, his sisters Mary and Joyce and his brother Effie, his brothers and sisters-in-law, their respective spouses their children, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital today at 1.15pm for the St Joseph parish church, Kalkara, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 2pm followed by interment in the family grave at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. MIZZI. On February 8 at Mater Dei Hospital, LINO, aged 89, passed away peacefully, comforted by the rites of Holy Church, to be reunited with his beloved son Massimo. He leaves to mourn his irreparable loss his wife Nivea, née Pensavalle, his son Mr Justice Antonio Mizzi and his wife Marlene, his daughter Linda and her husband Dr Joseph Refalo, his grandchildren Alexandra and her husband Andrea, Giancarlo and his wife Santa, and Francesco, his beloved great-grandchildren Mia and Max, his sister-in-law Tessie Mizzi widow of his brother Robert and their children Franco, Alida and Romina, as well as his other relatives and friends. The funeral cortege will leave Mater Dei Hospital today at 1.30pm for St Julian’s parish church, where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 2pm followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. Carnival ‘deters’ Parliament

Parliament will not be meeting on Monday, when carnival festivities will be going on in St George’s Square, Valletta. The arrangement was formally agreed by both government and opposition.
