I am absolutely sick of, yet again, driving behind idiot drivers either going ridiculously slowly and/or weaving all over the road or driving at breakneck speed in heavy traffic, only to discover what? Yes, you’ve guessed it: they are talking or, even worse, texting on their phones.

Just when are the drivers in this country, be it of cars, vans or trucks, going to realise they are in charge of killing machines and, as such, their 110 per cent attention is demanded?

It is hopeless and, worse still, no-one seems to care or put the laws into force.

It is indeed such a shame that someone has to be killed before action is taken.

When there is a road accident, do the police here do what their colleagues in the UK have been known to do, that is, check the drivers’ mobile phones to see whether their use coincided with the accident, thereby indicating driving without due care and attention or worse? It would be an interesting exercise.

And, also, still too few drivers use indicators. Do they think they will wear them out?
