Roberto Cavalli’s new fragrance Paradiso is a key to another world, an earthly paradise of sensations and delights.

In the hands of the famous Italian couturier, the Mediterranean dolce vita is transfigured and becomes a true paradise on earth.

Conceived by master perfumer Louise Turner (Givaudan), Paradiso features a woody floral fragrance and is a symphony of sun-filled notes inspired by Italian landscapes.

A prelude of sparkling citrus blends generous bergamot and sweet mandarin orange. A carnal heart note of wild jasmine follows, bringing a lush overtone of voluptuousness. The fragrance closes on a rich and delicate chord of cypress, pink laurel and parasol pine. A refined mix of typically Italian scents, it prolongs and amplifies the effect of jasmine and creates a long-lasting woody trail.

To shelter Paradiso, a luxurious flacon was conceived. Artistically chiselled in the shape of a diamond, its heavy, transparent glass reveals the golden depths of the fragrance. The faceted, crystal-like cap captures the light, creating glittering reflections.

A ring of metallic scales coils itself around the neck of the bottle, reminiscent of the designer’s fascination for animal skin patterns.

The outer box offers a striking gradation from green to yellow, alluding to the reflection of sunlight on the sea and vegetation.

Paradiso’s new face is supermodel Edita Vilkeviciute, whose career was launched by her runway debut for Cavalli.

The model was shot by Italian photographer Mario Sorrenti for the brand’s print campaign. TV commercials for the fragrance were filmed in the Mediterranean by Jonas Akerlund.

Paradiso, distributed by X-Treme Co. Ltd, will be available from tomorrow at all Franks outlets; Roberts, Sliema; Beauty Plus, Valletta; Provita, Naxxar; Melita Pharmacy, St Julian’s; St Mary’s Pharmacy, Attard; and Corner Perfumery, Rabat.
