The feast of St John Bosco was celebrated in Victoria last Sunday. In the morning, Gozo Bishop Mario Grech concelebrated Mass animated by Chorus Urbanus at the Don Bosco Oratory chapel. This was followed by a parade of horses and ponies that left St Francis Square for St Augustine’s Square where the animals and pets were blessed by Mgr George Tabone. In the evening, La Stella Band played band marches and accompanied a procession with the saint’s statue. A concert featuring the Gozo Youth Wind Band and Orchestra under the direction of Joseph Grech was also held at the oratory theatre.
