Five men have been jailed after the Court of Appeal turned their suspended sentence into an effective one.

The men, aged between 25 and 58, had been accused of injuring two police officers on their line of duty, on September 25, 2011, grievously injuring one of them.

The police had intervened to stop an argument.

Two have now been sentenced to a jail term of 12 months, two to 14 months, and the fifth to 20 months.
