The ‘Valletta Only’ sign near the Msida roundabout has slowed down traffic and is a nuisance to cars proceeding to Gżira and Sliema.

This sign had already been put up not so long ago and the result was a miserable failure. So one wonders why it was reintroduced, other than to irritate drivers.

Another ridiculous idea was to introduce a bus lane at Aldo Moro Street in Marsa, near Bezzina’s and the former Malta Shipbuilding. This is causing chaos and frustration to many drivers every day.

While this area is probably busier that Msida, compared to the volume of traffic, buses are few and far between.

Likewise, taxis using this road are usually driving towards the airport, i.e. using the extreme right side of the road.

The authorities should consider removing the signs threatening a €58 penalty and re-open this lane to all traffic.
