The government has reiterated its offer to make available, as far as possible, all services and facilities at its disposal to UN special envoy Bernardino Leon and the present and prospective participants in the dialogue efforts to broker a solution to Libya's political crisis.

This was because it wanted to see Libya regain stability, peace and prosperity.

In a statement this evening, the Foreign Ministry said it believed the only solution to the crisis in Libya was through dialogue and it congratulated all Libyan authorities that sent their representatives to take part in the discussions and encouraged the Tripoli authorities to also take part.

The ministry said the government understood that Malta’s resources were limited but it genuinely wanted peace in Libya and was willing to offer its services with full respect to every representative, who decided to take part in the dialogue.

It was also willing to discuss how it could be of help for peace in Libya to be attained.

The government said it appreciated the difficulties that had to be overcome for three meetings to be held and it understood the significance of all developments made through dialogue in a positive atmosphere with good intentions.
