Goetz: Hamburg have extended right-back Ashton Goetz’s contract by two years to 2017 following his rise to the senior team this season. Goetz, 21, who joined the club as a teenager in 2008, was plucked out of the reserves this term and established himself in the defence. Hamburg have released Macedonian winger Valmir Nafiu to join Apoel Nicosia in Cyprus on a deal to 2020.

Same prices: Manchester United will not reduce ticket prices for their FA Cup fourth-round replay against Cambridge. Manchester City lowered the cost of tickets for their cup tie against Middlesbrough to help boost numbers at the Etihad Stadium, but United will not follow suit. Adult United and Cambridge fans will have to pay full price for the replay, which will take place next Tuesday at Old Trafford.

Alcacer: Valencia striker Paco Alcacer has signed a new five-year contract at the Mestalla amid rumoured interest from Liverpool. The 21-year-old had been linked with a switch to Anfield this month, but he has now committed to Valencia until 2020.

Clattenburg: Mark Clattenburg has been selected to referee Saturday’s Premier League title showdown between Chelsea and Manchester City. Clattenburg has a history of controversy with both clubs. City boss Manuel Pellegrini claimed Clattenburg cost his team victory during a 2-2 draw with Arsenal in September and Chelsea also have history with Clattenburg. He was falsely accused of racially abusing Blues midfielder John Obi Mikel during a match with Manchester United in 2012.

Ya Konan: Hanover have re-signed Didier Ya Konan until the end of the season, with the option of an extra 12 months. The 30-year-old Ivorian left for Al-Ittihad last summer.
