The Chamber of Small and Medium Enterprise, GRTU, has called an urgent meeting of the Malta Council for Economic and Social Development to discuss diesel prices.

It said in a statement that the situation in Malta had greately deteriorated with the price of diesel being 17c higher than the EU average as on January 19.

The price of diesel was the third highest in Malta from among EU states. This badly affected competitiveness and the chamber did not understand the argument or the solution, it said.
