A fire broke out at a laundry in Mrieħel yesterday morning, causing serious damage to parts of the building, but nobody was injured in the blaze.
The cause of the fire is thought to have been a boiler situated in one of two adjacent industrial garages.
The boiler room area was heavily damaged, with flames also travelling along the roof and front doors.
An office situated at roof level was also totally destroyed by fire.
The Civil Protection Unit was called in at 6.15am and firefighters had extinguished the fire by 8.40am.
No damage was caused to adjacent buildings, except for the other industrial garage, which sustained some smoke damage.
