There were 62 incidents involving horses and reported to the police between 2004 and last year, Home Affairs Minister Carmelo Abela said.

Replying to a Parliamentary question by Labour MP Anthony Agius Decelis, the minister said a total of 79 vehicles were also involved in the incidents and 26 people were injured.

He said the highest number of cases, 12, were reported last year. Eight cases were reported in 2008 and 2013, seven in 2007, six in 2004, five in 2011, four in 2005, 2006, and 2010, three in 2009 and one in 2012.
