Having reached the age of 70, I often have to visit Mater Dei Hospital as an outpatient.

Answering the call of nature, I cannot but notice that many of the water cisterns leak.

Some leak a little and some leak a lot.

I do not know how many toilet cisterns there are in our state-of-the-art hospital and how many of them leak.

Excuse me for stating the obvious: water is very expensive.

What I do know is that, in this case, taxpayers’ money is literally going down the drain.

The head of the maintenance unit should take note.
