Division One leaders Fina produced another superb performance in week three of the MSV Life National League, easily toppling The Clan 8-0 with a massive 2,652 series.

Royal Shock were big winners in the third full-point victory of the week after trouncing Bello Aluminium, while there was a 6-2 win for Ramis against Supreme. The clash between J. Grima & Co and Turu’s Knights ended with an equal share of the points for both.

Fina shot the highest team series of the season to date in their demolition of The Clan.

An all-round broadside saw Fina cruise to a 716-924 opening win, and then they went four ahead with another fine victory in game two, 764-878 the score.

The Clan put together a creditable 800-effort in game two, a score that would probably earn them two points nine times out of ten, but an 850 from the impressive Fina side put paid to that.

Sue Abela was on fire for Fina, shooting a brilliant 705 set (238-252-215), while her son, Justin Caruana Scicluna shot a massive 686 (239-232-215).

Defending champions okmalta. com’s third consecutive whitewash came to the detriment of bottom-placed MIA who started brightly with a 756 effort, but were bested by an 807 from their opponents.

There would be yet more disappointment for them in game two, which okmalta.com managed to snatch with a 796-871 score.

Game three then fell 721-790 to the champions, to round off the victory.
