Odion Ighalo scored four times as Watford fought back from two down at half-time to thrash bottom club Blackpool 7-2 in a remarkable Championship game at Vicarage Road, yesterday.

The Seasiders looked on course for their first away win of the season after Andrea Orlandi and Steven Davies fired them into a 2-0 lead.

But whatever Hornets boss Slavisa Jokanovic said at the interval did the trick as his side ran riot in the second half.

Ighalo tucked in a cross from Miguel Layun two minutes after the restart and Troy Deeney’s header hauled Watford level five minutes later.

Sixty seconds later Deeney teed up Ighalo for his second and Matej Vydra rifled in the fourth just before the hour mark.

Gabriele Angella tucked in the rebound when Deeney’s 66th-minute header hit a post and Ighalo completed his hat-trick after Deeney hit the woodwork again.

On 81 minutes, Deeney unselfishly played the ball across goal for Ighalo to hit his fourth and wrap up a stunning second-half display from the hosts.
