Gozo Minister Anton Refalo (left) visited the Ċittadella in Victoria, which is undergoing extensive works, especially on its internal and external parts. Restoration works are ongoing on a number of historic buildings, preserving important archaeological layers, consolidating rubble walls, cleaning debris and invasive vegetation and paving with hard stone. An unused water reservoir built in its ditch in 1856 is also being converted into a visitors’ centre. This is a major EU co-funded project implemented by the Ministry, earmarked to be completed this year.
