Chamber of Engineers president Norman Zammit congratulated Marco Cremona, who was appointed member of the National Order of Merit, saying engineers have regularly formed part of the Gieħ ir-Repubblika awards list, including Carmel Pule in 2013, awarded the medal for service to the Republic, and Lawrence Ciantar, who received the National Order of Merit.
“The growing stature of our profession is reflected in the recognition of the engineering community’s capabilities and service to society through their specific knowledge and skills. As engineers, it is our duty to carry out our role to the best of our ability for the positive development of society, the profession itself, as well as our colleagues and employers,” said Zammit.
With his expertise in environmental technologies and hydrology, Cremona has contributed to impact assessments of national importance, as well as projects that have enhanced our society while lessening environmental impact.
