The FKNK has protested to the government, the Local Councils Association and Attard local council after Attard Deputy Mayor Marco Spiteri and councillor Ralph Cassar wrote on the council's Facebok page about why they will vote 'no' in the Spring hunting referendum.

The federation said that while everyone had a right for a personal opinion, the two officials had acted unethically in making use of the council's Facebook page for this purpose.

In a reaction, Alternattiva Demokratika chairman Arnold Cassola described the federation's action as undemocratic and an attempt to violate freedom of expression.
