A letter from the far distant isles of the Pacific! I have just received a generous donation from the Mission Fund operating in Malta. This has been a timely help in our mission work in the Pacific.
I am a Discalced Carmelite (Tereżjani) priest, originally from Birkirkara, and have been working in this part of the world for nearly two decades.
Since the Pacific was the last major region of the world to receive intensive Christian missionary attention, the Church is still hard pressed to find a foothold in many of the 20,000 islands spread throughout this area.
So many people can be rescued through a proper missionary endeavour! Suicide and teenage pregnancy are real and serious issues in these islands. We are trying.
Please help the Mission Fund to continue its precious mission by sending used stamps and donations to this address: Mission Fund, Eureka Court Blk A, Flat 6, Main Street, Mosta MST 1018. Donations may be made online or by direct bank transfer. More information can be accessed at www.missionfund.org.mt. If you help them, they can help us, Maltese missionaries.
