CACHIA. On January 19, at Mater Dei Hospital, TERESA, née Sammut of Ħamrun, residing in Birżebbuġa, aged 75, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her daughters Sheila and her husband Giovanni Caruso, Maria and her husband Alan Proctor and Lily and her husband Graham Hale, her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital tomorrow at 9.15am for Birżebbuġa parish church where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 10am, followed by interment at the Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. Special thanks go to the all the staff of the ITU, Mater Dei Hospital, for their loving care and dedication. Lord, grant her eternal rest.

GATT. On January 21, at his residence, HERMAN of Birkirkara, aged 63, passed away peacefully, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his wife Lorenza, his children Allan and his wife Jenny, and Ingrid, his brother Horace and his wife Louise, his father-in-law Anthony, his sisters-in-law Georgina and MaryRose, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves his residence today at 1.15pm for Our Lady of Mount Carmel parish church, Fleur-de-Lys Birkirkara, where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 2pm, followed by interment at the Resurrection Cemetery, Qormi. GATT. On January 22, at Karin Grech Rehabilitation Centre, CONCETTA of Żejtun, aged 87, passed away peacefully, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her husband John, her daughter Maria and her son Ġużi, her brother Charlie residing in Australia, the families of her late brothers, in-laws and their families, other relatives, friends and acquaintances. The funeral leaves Karin Grech Rehabilitation Centre on Monday, January 26 at 8am for St Gregory church, Żejtun, where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 8.30am, followed by interment at St Gregory Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to Fondazzjoni Dar Nazareth, Żejtun, will be greatly appreciated. The family regret they are unable to receive visitors. Lord, grant her eternal rest.

PIROTTA. On January 18, LYDIA, née Cassar, widow of Joseph, aged 89, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her son Joe and his wife Elaine, her daughters Marlene and her husband Anthony Gatt and Doreen and her husband Vincent Camilleri, her beloved grandchildren Michelle, Jamie, Carol, Amy, Clark, Maxine, Victoria and Denise, her great-grandchildren Izabella and Alex, her sister Giovanna Fuller, her brother Italo, other relatives and friends. Mass præsente cadavere will be celebrated today at 2pm at the old ‘Matriċi’ church, St Venera. Lord, grant her eternal rest.

PORTELLI. On January 21, at Villa Messina, Rabat, LUCIA, née Amato, aged 94, passed away peacefully, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her children Vivienne, Godwin, Sandro and their respective families, nephews and nieces, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Villa Messina today at 2pm for Msida parish church, where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 2.30pm, followed by interment in the family chapel at the Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. Donations to the Poor Clares at St Clare Monastery, St Julian’s, will be greatly appreciated. Lord, grant her eternal rest.

ZAHRA. On January 19, RAYMOND, aged 61. He leaves to mourn his loss his beloved wife Jane, his treasured children Br. Aaron, and Amy and her husband Mark Anthony, his brothers and sisters, his in-laws, his nephews, nieces, cousins and numerous friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital tomorrow at 2.15pm for Our Lady of Pompei parish church, Marsaxlokk, where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 3pm, followed by private interment at St Gregory Cemetery, Żejtun. No flowers by request but donations to the Dominican Missions in Albania, which can be sent at St Dominic’s Priory, Rabat, will be appreciated.
