Qormi vs Sirens
Mosta vs Valletta
Balzan vs Hibs
Birkirkara vs Pieta Hotspurs

Ties to be played on February 13-14.

On the occasion of the draws of the quarter finals this morning at the Centenary Hall, the Malta Football Association also presented the competition's new sponsors - Attian Group Services.

The Italy based company, which specialises in construction and green technology, has agreed to sponsor the knockout competition until the end of this season with an option to extend the contract by another year.

Bjorn Vassallo, the MFA general secretary, said the competition had now reached a very exciting stage as only eight teams remained in contention.

He said that football stirred controversy both on and off the pitch but it was testament to the game’s popularity that every controversy created a debate.

Vassallo was alluding to the controversy surrounding the FA trophy fourth round match between Nadur Youngsters and Hibernians, in which referee Sandro Spiteri apparently showed two yellow cards to Bjorn Kristensen but the Hibs midfielder was not given a red card and subsequently stayed on the pitch.

Hibs won the game 3-1 but it is understood that Nadur Youngsters are considering lodging a protest against the result of the game.

Of the last eight teams in the quarter finals, Sirens are the only team outside the Premier League to advance to this stage.

The Division Two giant killers trounced Gudja United 6-0 in Wednesday’s fourth round match.

Valletta, the holders, meet Mosta while Hibs, the current BOV Premier League leaders meet Balzan.

In the other all Premier League quarter final, Birkirkara take on Pieta Hotspurs.
