Julio Alcorse is making a return to the Maltese Premier League after the Argentine striker agreed to join Sliema Wanderers for the rest of the season.

For the 33-year-old forward this will be his second spell with the Wanderers after he donned the Blues shirt in 2009/10.

The Wanderers have been working hard over the past few days to sign a forward as they are struggling to score goals. Their cause has not been helped by Michael Mifsud’s long injury lay-off and the departure of Italian forward Fabio Mangiacasale.

This season, Alcorse played in Indonesia where he scored 13 goals in 17 appearances.

If the Wanderers manage to complete Alcorse’s registration today, he will be eligible to make his debut for the Blues against Balzan at the Tedesco Stadium on Sunday.
