GALEA BONAVIA. On January 20, HELENE, née Aquilina, residing in Attard, aged 64, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her loving husband Charles, her dear daughters Francesca and Michela, her brother John Paul Aquilina and his wife Madeleine, her brother-in-law Paul Galea, widower of her sister Miriam, as well as her nieces Marilena and Audrey and nephew Jonathan. She will also be sadly missed by Charles’s closest cousins, Maria Rosner and Joanna Depares, as well as other relatives and friends. Mass præsente cadavere will be said today at 9am at St Mary’s parish church, Attard, followed by interment in the family grave at the Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to Id-Dar tal-Providenza, Siġġiewi, will be greatly appreciated. Lord, grant her eternal rest.

GATT. On January 21, at his residence, HERMAN of Birkirkara, aged 63, passed away peacefully, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his wife Lorenza, his children Allan and his wife Jenny, and Ingrid, his brother Horace and his wife Louise, his father-in-law Anthony, his sisters-in-law Georgina and MaryRose, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves his residence tomorrow at 1.15pm for Our Lady of Mount Carmel parish church, Fleur-de-Lys Birkirkara, where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 2pm, followed by interment at the Resurrection Cemetery, Qormi. HARRIS. On January 20, at Mater Dei Hospital, Captain HAROLD WILLIAM HARRIS, aged 87, widower of Josette, passed away peacefully, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his children Sandy, Fiona and her husband Tancred and his parents Tancred and Jutta Busuttil, his beloved grandson George, his sister Mabel Mizzi, his sister-in-law Joan Warrington, his nephews and nieces Mario, Guido, Joe, Henri, Rosanne, Sylvia, Alan and Roberta and their respective spouses and partners, as well as his friends. The funeral cortège leaves Mater Dei Hospital today for San Ġwann parish church where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 2pm, followed by interment in the family grave at the Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. Special thanks to the surgeons and all the team at the Cardiac Medical Ward and the Surgical Ward, Mater Dei Hospital. Lord, grant him eternal rest.

PORTELLI. On January 21, LUCIA, née Amato, aged 94, passed away peacefully at Villa Messina, Rabat, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her children Vivienne, Godwin, Sandro and their respective families, nephews and nieces, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Villa Messina tomorrow at 2pm for Msida parish church, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 2.30pm followed by interment in the family chapel at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. Donations to the Poor Clares at St Clare Monastery, St Julian’s, will be greatly appreciated. Lord grant her eternal rest.

ZAHRA. On January 19, RAYMOND, aged 61. He leaves to mourn his loss his beloved wife Jane, his treasured children Br. Aaron, and Amy and her husband Mark Anthony, his brothers and sisters, his in-laws, his nephews, nieces, cousins and numerous friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital on Saturday, January 24 at 2.15pm for Our Lady of Pompei parish church, Marsaxlokk, where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 3pm, followed by private interment at St Gregory Cemetery, Żejtun. No flowers by request but donations to the Dominican Missions in Albania, which can be sent at St Dominic’s Priory, Rabat, will be appreciated. Lord, grant him eternal rest.

Prayer meeting

An Interfaith prayer meeting will be held tomorrow at 7.30pm at the Millennium Chapel. Imam El Sadi of the Muslim Community in Malta will take part and deliver a short reflection and prayers. Everyone is invited to attend.
