Kehl: Borussia Dortmund midfielder Sebastian Kehl has been ruled out for four weeks with a shoulder injury, dealing a further blow to the relegation-threatened former German champions. Kehl, who could now miss their Champions League Round of 16 first leg against Juventus on Feb. 24, was injured when he clashed with a team-mate during a friendly against Steaua Bucharest on Saturday.

Boycott: Soccer fixtures in Cyprus have been postponed for a week after a referees boycott in response to violence against their families. All league and cup fixtures scheduled between Jan. 20 and Jan. 26 will be postponed. The match officials took the decision to take action after the home of the mother of a referee was targeted in a bomb attack on January 18. Nobody was hurt in the attack.

Jedinak: Australia received a timely boost ahead of their Asian Cup quarter-final against China tomorrow when Socceroos captain Mile Jedinak rejoined the team at training. Jedinak missed Australia’s final two group matches after injuring his ankle in the opening match of the tournament but is expected to play a part in the knockout phase.

Phelan: Mike Phelan has left his role as Norwich first-team coach by mutual consent. The 52-year-old former City midfielder was among the favourites to become the club’s new manager after Neil Adams quit earlier this month. But the Canaries instead made a surprise appointment by bringing in Alex Neil from Hamilton.

Money lost: Birmingham City’s parent company has claimed around £2.55 million may have been “misappropriated” by an ex-employee. Birmingham International Holdings have called in the police to investigate after fears 30 million Hong Kong dollars could have been lost since December 2013. The issue was raised by the board members as they try to be as transparent as possible amid a boardroom battle involving former Birmingham owner Carson Yeung, who was sent to jail for money laundering.

Montpellier: Montpellier have secured the services of Sochaux defender Jerome Roussillon from the start of next season. The 22-year-old has signed a four-and-a-half-year contract but will spend the rest of the 2014-15 campaign on loan with Sochaux before moving to the Stade de la Mosson permanently on June 30.
