I would like to take this opportunity to thank the person (I assume from Transport Malta) who planned the major diversion as part of the Salina Coast Road project on January 9.
Firstly, for the great idea of making the changes during the Friday night rush period. Secondly, for the total lack of informative signage, and lastly, for managing to produce a diversion route where if followed you would end up where you started from, having travelled several kilometres in a complete circle.
It was obvious by the confusion at the many roundabouts that the police, although trying to resolve the matter, had no idea of how the diversion would work.
In over 30 years of driving and knowledge of traffic management at a large city council in the UK I have never ever experienced such utter incompetence. Unfortunately for Malta it reflects a very third world approach to traffic management.
I hope this disastrous situation is not repeated in the future.
