The Malta Chamber of Commerce, Enterprise and Industry has signed an official partnership with the Annual Investment Meeting (AIM) that will be held in Dubai between March 30 and April 1.

This major event is organised by the UAE Ministry of Economy and follows the signing of the strategic partnership agreement signed between the Malta Chamber and the Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry, which was spearheaded by its Middle East Business Council.

We are striving to increase visibility for Malta in the region and we are encouraged by the support of government and other major stakeholders to do this

The AIM congress is considered one of the world’s most important conferences concerning foreign direct investment (FDI). Attracting over 11,000 participants and over 60 ministers from various countries, the congress brings together trade as well as intellectual elements, aimed at enriching institutional, corporate and individual investors attending with a comprehensive set of guidelines for their future investment decisions in high-growth regions.

The upcoming fifth edition of the AIM will discuss sustainable development through FDI-induced innovation and technology transfer. The agreement will mean chamber members will be able to register in the Connecting SMEs Globally web portal, an international network of organisations which are in turn affiliated with other chambers around the world.

“We are starting to see results following three delegations that Malta had in the region in 2014,” Middle East Business Council chairman Tonio Casapinta said.

“We are striving to increase visibility for Malta in the region and we are encouraged by the support of government and other major stakeholders to do this. Such an agreement will give us a unique opportunity to be listed among other big players who are included in this huge portal. Moreover, participation at this mega event will enable us to network and present investment and trading opportunities which Malta has to offer.”
