Five consortia have submitted bids for the construction of a grade separated junction at Kappara, Transport Malta said.

The call for tenders, issued last September, closed yesterday.

The bids were received from Kappa Jv, SJ Kappara J.V., Tirrena Scavi S.p.a., K7JV, and Pons PST Malta JVC.

Works on the project, which is co-funded by the EU and aimed at easing the traffic flow at Kappara junction, will be divided in various phases.

Works will start once the adjudication process by the Department of Contracts is finalised and on completion of the Coast Road Reconstruction project, Transport Malta said.
