A lot of fuss has been made because a hearse was noticed aboard a Gozo Channel ferry. I for one, who have been crossing the channel regularly for the last 50 years, would consider it an honour to accompany a fellow human being on his or her last voyage.
It seems the days when we used to stop and bow our heads when a hearse is passing by are over. If we follow the current mentality we might as well not attend any funeral praesente cadavere.
