A group of mechanical engineering students from the Malta College of Arts, Science and Technology are to take part in the international Formula SAE competition, a design-project aimed at engineering students organised by the Society of Automotive Engineers (FSAE).

The Mcast students’ challenge is to design, build, test and race a single-seat Formula-style race car in the competition to be held in Parma, Italy, in August 2016. Student groups from universities and colleges around the world are also taking part. The teams are judged not only on their placing in the various racing events, but also on their technical design and innovation, costs and business presentation skills.
