The latest suspensions list makes unpleasant reading for Naxxar Lions and Żebbuġ Rangers as the two Premier League strugglers each had three players receiving one-match bans yesterday.

Naxxar Lions goalkeeper Julian Azzopardi has been sanctioned after seeing red in the 4-1 defeat to Floriana while Daren Falzon and new signing Albert Bruce, who made his debut on Saturday after coming on in the first half, have been suspended for four yellow cards.

The Lions trio will have to miss the league game against league leaders Hibernians on Sunday.

Żebbuġ, bottom of the table with nine points from 17 matches, will also be without three players for their clash with Sliema Wanderers on Saturday.

Midfielder Kurt Zammit, who was sent off for two bookings on his debut for the Rangers, and defenders Yessous Camilleri and Jacob Borg, both disci-plined for collecting their fourth caution in the 5-2 loss to Hibs, were among the 10 Premier League players who were handed a one-match ban.

Sliema Wanderers have lost Italian defender Stefano Bian-ciardi, suspended for four yellow cards.

The accumulation of four bookings has ruled Nemanja Milovanovic out of Mosta’s match against Qormi on Saturday while the latter will be missing Duncan Pisani.

Tarxien defender Alessandro Lopes Pereira, also banned for four bookings, will have to skip his team’s game against Birkirkara on Saturday.
