BEZZINA. On January 7, at St Vincent de Paul residence, ESTHER, née Cassar, of Sliema, widow of Emmanuel, aged 86, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her children Grace and her husband Carmel Parnis, Joseph, Raymond and his wife Ninette, Paul and his wife Rose, Antonella and her husband Dominic Micallef, and Carmen, widow of her son Charles, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends. The funeral takes place tomorrow. Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 2pm at Sacro Cuor parish church, Sliema, followed by interment in the family grave at the Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. CAMILLERI. On January 6, MARIA DOLORES, née Spiteri, of Sliema, aged 78, went to meet the Risen Lord, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. Deeply mourned by her beloved husband Carmenu, her son Johnny, her brother Ninu of Australia, her in-laws, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends. The funeral cortège leaves Mater Dei Hospital tomorrow at 9am for Stella Maris parish church, Sliema, where Mass præsente cadavere will be celebrated at 9.30am, followed by interment in the family grave at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. GIALANZÈ. On January 5, at St James Hospital, IRENE, née Dacoutros, widow of Anthony and sister of the late Maria Loporto, aged 71, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church and surrounded by the family she loved so dearly. She leaves to mourn her loss her daughter Michelle, her grand­children whom she adored, Sarah, Lisa and Edward, her son Karl and his wife Claudia, her twin sister Grace, wife of John Schembri, her sister Johanna, widow of Rupert Portanier and Lydia, wife of Anthony Sammut, nephews and nieces and various friends in Malta and abroad. Mass præsente cadavere will be said today at 9am at St Julian’s parish church. No flowers by request but donations to Hospice Malta, Balzan, will be appreciated. The family regret they are unable to receive visitors. Lord, grant her eternal rest.

MALLIA. On January 6, at St Vincent de Paul residence, DOMENIC of Tarxien, aged 92, passed away peacefully, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his beloved wife Maria Concetta, née Shields, his children Marthese, Rose, Joseph, Carmen, Veronica, Virginia, William, John and Jacqueline and their spouses, his 22 grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren, his brothers, in-laws, nephews and nieces, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves St Vincent de Paul residence today at 2.30pm for the Augustinian church, Tarxien, where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 3pm, followed by interment in the family grave at Tal-Erwieħ Cemetery, Tarxien. MEILAK. Tragically, on January 1, in Gozo, MATTHEW of Swieqi, aged 22, fifth year law student, went to meet the Risen Lord. He leaves to mourn his great and irreparable loss, his beloved parents Lucienne and Stefan, his dearest sister Bea, his grandmother Cettina Caruana Curran and her husband Maurice, his grandparents Martin and Tania Vassallo, his aunts and uncles Erika Vella and her husband Ivan, Danielle Drago and her husband David and John Vassallo and his wife Baudina, his cousins James, Jonathan, Chrissa, Andrew, Julian, Sean, Elena, Jordi and Ella, great aunts and uncles, other relatives and numerous friends. Mass præsente cadavere will be celebrated today at 2pm at Tal-Ibraġ parish church, followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to Id-Dar tal-Providenza, Siġġiewi, will be appreciated. The family regret they are unable to receive visitors. Lord, grant him eternal rest.
